At Solargraf, our mission is to continuously innovate and deliver the most relevant, impactful updates for solar professionals. Every quarter we roll out a wide range of improvements on our platform to help installers streamline their workflows, improve designs and deliver high quality permits to customers.

As we move through Q4 here’s a recap of the powerful new features and improvements introduced in Q3.

Design enhancements

Precision and customization are key to great solar designs. In the third quarter, we’ve introduced several updates to help you build smarter, more tailored systems:

Roof material per array

You can now define roof materials for each array individually, allowing for more accurate automated pricing. This enhancement pulls material details directly from the API, helping you streamline cost estimates and improve proposal precision.

Property line adjustment

The design tool now supports property line adjustments, helping you create cleaner layouts that avoid overlaps with roof lines. This makes it easier to generate permit-ready plansets with confidence.

Solar canopy defaults

Arrays placed on low-slope roof facets can now benefit from default height and panel stacking settings. This enhancement helps maintain consistency across designs and reduces setup time.

Proposal & financing enhancements

We’ve introduced new tools to make your proposals more dynamic, customizable, and sales ready. So your team can close deals faster and with greater confidence:

Customizable proposal layouts

Tailor your proposals with editable cover page titles, toggle between dark and light modes, and retail 3D visuals for a more engaging customer experience.

Express Editor

Make real-time updates to panels and batteries during sales conversations using Express editor. This feature helps your team respond quickly to customer preferences and close deals faster.

Proposal API updates

Use the updated public API to modify design options visible on web quotes, giving you more control over how proposals are presented.

LightReach TPO integration

Access integrated third-party ownership (TPO) financing through LightReach. You can now import products, update pricing, submit applications, and change orders all within Solargraf.

Send application to homeowner

Installers can now share the GoodLeap application with homeowners, allowing them to complete either the full application or just the PII section. Once submitted successfully, installers will receive an email notification, ensuring faster processing and improved workflow.

Permit enhancements

This quarter’s updates bring smarter automation and richer detail to your permit plansets, helping you move from design to approval with greater speed and clarity:

Additional markers

You can now add visual markers such as front-of-house indicators, street names, and heat alarms directly to your plansets. These additions help installers better inspect, understand site layouts and improve clarity in documentation.

Neighbouring property exclusion

Easily exclude properties marked as “neighboring” from your permit PDFs. This ensures your plansets stay focused on the relevant site, reducing clutter and simplifying review for AHJs.

IQ5P + 3M + meter collar support

Generate complete SLDs and permit sets that include Enphase components like the IQ Battery 5P, IQ System Controller 3M, and the IQ Meter Collar installed behind the utility meter. This update ensures your documentation reflects the most current hardware configurations.

Battery Mounting Details

Include battery mounting information in your automated permit plansets. This saves time and ensures installers have the structural details they need right from the start.

Equipment Location & Description

Add detailed descriptions and locations of electrical equipment to your automated plansets. This enhancement improves transparency and helps streamline the permitting process by providing all necessary information upfront.

Conduit size specification

Define the minimum conduit size directly in the design tool, enabling more accurate single-line diagrams (SLDs) and ensuring compliance with electrical standards.

Temperature rating for wiring

Specify wire temperature ratings to enhance the accuracy of your SLDs and permit documentation, ensuring your designs meet safety and regulatory requirements.

Functional & system enhancements

We’ve rolled out system-level improvements that simplify workflows, enhance automation, and give you more control over your operations:

Dynamic breaker sizing

The system now automatically selects 10A or 15A breakers based on branch current in IQ combiner boxes. This smart sizing reduces manual calculations and ensures compliance with electrical standards.

Adders/discounts API

You can now create and delete project adders and discounts using our public APIs. This gives you more flexibility in managing pricing structures programmatically.

Document reordering

Reorder documents in the DocuSign envelope as per requirement before sending them to homeowners. This small but impactful update helps you maintain flow in your documentation.

Custom Tariff Builder

Configure time-of-use tiered rates and view automatic tariff rates with our new tariff builder. This tool makes it easier to model realistic energy savings and tailor proposals to local utility structures.

IronRidge racking integration

Seamlessly generate racking BOMs for your designs through direct integration with IronRidge. This saves time and ensures compatibility with trusted racking systems.

Default Docusign envelope names

Define default envelope names under company settings, so they’re prepopulated before sharing documents. This helps in standardizing the naming conventions and speeds up the document preparation process.

Panel & inverter database UI

Manage panels and inverters with a simplified interface under company settings. This update makes it easier to keep your equipment database organized and up to date.

Document template cloning

Clone text and PDF templates with placeholders for faster setup. This feature helps you scale your operations by reducing repetitive work and ensuring consistency across documents.

Dealer configuration tools

Seamlessly copy proposal settings and loss templates from parent accounts to dealer accounts. This simplifies setup and ensures consistency across your organization.

What’s Coming Next?

We’re already working on the next wave of enhancements to give you even more control, flexibility, and speed in your solar projects. Soon you will be able to use the Pegasus racking BOM integration to generate BOMs using Pegasus racking systems. You will also be able to use battery oversizing support to quote more than 40 kWh of Enphase batteries with PCS support. New settings will allow you to customize AC conduit types and auto switch wire types from copper to aluminum based on wire gauges, which will allow you to streamline your workflows further.

Conclusion

The third quarter brought several impactful updates and enhancements, from smarter design tools and customizable proposals to improved permit documentation and system configurations. Solargraf continues to evolve, keeping your needs at the center, making your operations easier and your projects more successful. Every new feature is designed with simplicity and accuracy in mind, making it easier for you to design, sell, and deliver with greater confidence.
